Project Impact
Superior, Nebraska
![]() |
In 1994, Superior received a grant to install a large drainage tube under 7th street, through the City Park and under 6th street on Blakely Creek. The Park grounds were landscaped and are used for a baseball field. The streets were paved creating a much improved park area. This new drainage project has connected into the tubing under 6th street and continues southward two blocks under the 5th and the 4th street roadways. The drainage tube now traverses two blocks and crosses two roadways, replacing the two hazardous concrete bridges and allowing for clearing of trees |
and debris. The dirt fill over the tubing was seeded providing ease of maintenance. The streets have been hard surfaced. The City of Superior Street Department has provided in-kind labor to fill the dirt over the drainage tube. The project was completed in the summer of 2000. The City Utility Manager and Street Foreman were responsible for supervision and completion of this project. |
