The Superior Express -

The ice cream social tradition which was started in the first years of Brodstone Memorial Hospital, was continued Sunday afternoon in Superiorʼs City Park. Before the hospital grew to cover the entire block, the social was held beneath the Three Sisters Oak Tree located on the lawn in front of the original hospital building. Participants had the choice of homemade chocolate or vanilla ice cream and a choice of cakes and desserts. Children pictured eating ice cream are Ruby Flores, Kenna and Teagan Kenny while Erica Kenny and Donna Lovewell visit in the background. Sundayʼs weather conditions added to the dayʼs enjoyable setting.
