Ben Price, the son of Carla and John Price, Jr. and a 2018 graduate of Superior High School, has returned to Superior to open a business

Price attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln. He earned his diploma in welding on Dec. 19, 2019. After graduation he returned home to Superior to open Lost Creek Welding located at 160 West Third Street. He purchased the building from his grandfather, John Price, Sr. The buildingwas constructed in 1941 to house the machine shop of Stacey Barker. In 1943, it became home to Chester WebberÕs Superior Hide and Fur Company. It has housed several different businesses in the intervening years. It was home to the Seever Pontiac Agency. Byfields Garage called the building home for several years. A Honda motorcycle dealership was in residence at the site. Abstracts, Inc. a title company, occupied the site. Keith Eiel Motors was located in the building. PursellÕs Liquor Store was another occupant. Price Monuments was the lastest resident before Ben purchased the building.

Price offers a full service welding line. Price is also producing free standing cattle panels for his first offering. The panels can be linked together to form portable corrals.

He purchased a welding machine and plasma cutter for the company. He has a fork lift on site to move heavy materials around. He stated he had a backlog of orders for his panels. Price is looking to offer other products to his manufacturing line as he moves forward. He is mulling the possibility of setting up a mobile welding unit to make on-site repair calls. At the moment he is the sole worker but he has friends who lend a helping hand when needed.

The office space on the southeast corner is being renovated and will be utilized by his sister, Sydney, as an office for her real estate business.

In his shrinking free time, Price likes to hunt waterfowl and deer. He played on the Superior High School golf team and remains an avid golfer.

Price noted he is happy to be back home and looks forward to working with area farmers and businesses to fulfill their welding needs. He is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
