Commissioners Proceedings Jan. 21

The Jewell County Commissioners met Jan. 21. Commissioners, Steve Greene, Mark Fleming and Keith Roe and Carla Waugh were present.

The minutes of the Jan. 13 meeting were approved.

The revised 2020 Employment Rules and Regulations for the Ambulance Department were approved.

It was passed to remain with the NCKLEPG for another year.

Anna Porter, county appraiser, discussed upgrading computers.

Greg Flavin telephoned to say 50 Road needs gravel from the Esbon road to seven miles to the north.

Todd Gregg, ThyssenKrupp, said that the courthouse elevator model has been placed on the obsolete list and the company currently has parts for approximately three years. He suggested getting a quote to upgrade the elevator. The commissioners requested a quote.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed maintenance. The commissioners reported road concerns.

Don Jacobs, sheriff, discussed patrol vehicles, dispatcher desk, inmates, and training. He also has been working to updating SOP’s for his department.
