A new business, K and P Truck Wash, opened north of Jewell on Jan. 31. Joel Kemmerer and Andrew Pumphrey are the owners.

Four washing stations are available. Water for the truck wash is supplied by a private well but water can also be provided by the rural water district. All the water and waste which runs into a nearby lagoon will be pumped out and spread on nearby fields for fertilizer.

The owners plan to build a shelter and office building with a drivers' lounge. For the washing operation, they hope to hire three to four people.

Hours of operations have not been established yet. However, the owners are taking appointments at 785-648-0051.
