Howard Mills

Howard Lee Mills, 71, the son of Lloyd and Emma (Garman) Mills, was born on Sept. 22, 1948, in Red Cloud, Neb. He died Feb. 7 at Bryan LGH Medical Center West at Lincoln, Neb.

Howard attended schools in Burr Oak, Nora and Ruskin where he graduated. He was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church.

He was employed at Mid-American Dairymen in Superior until its closure. He married Mary “Sam” Sutherland on July 19, 2008, at Hebron.

During Howard's lifetime, he lived in the communities of Burr Oak, Superior, Hebron, Concordia and Cimmaron, Kan. He enjoyed time with his family. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and lawn work. He enjoyed singing at church and other occasions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Emma; one daughter, Robin Mills; one brother, Richard Mills; and two sisters, Shirley Mills and Loyce Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Sam” of Hebron; brother, Emory (Pauline) Mills of Rush, Colo .; and sisters, Wanda Wyatt of Hastings and Marietta Nickell of Fountain, Colo .; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial luncheon will be held at 12 noon at the First United Methodist Church in Hebron, Neb. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, with Pastor Rick Jones assisting.

Private inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Hebron First United Methodist Church towards a new sound system.
