Kaye Barrett, 88, daughter of Roscoe Banister and Blanche (Haynes) Banister was born Aug. 4, 1931, at Traer, Kan. and died Feb. 9, 2020 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville.

Kaye was united in marriage to Richard A. Barrett Sr. on Aug. 26, 1951. To this union two children were born, Richard and Terri.

Kaye was a member of the United Methodist Church of Republic, Kan., United Methodist Women. She and her husband Richard were house parents of Youthville for 10 years. She was the accompanist for many school

programs and funerals for many years, she was a member of the Farmerettes singing group for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter in law, Darlene Barrett; two brothers, Durward and Paul.

She is survived by one son, Richard Barrett Jr. of Wichita; one daughter, Terri (Gary) Ritter of Manhattan, Kan .; five grandchildren, Christopher Ritter, Heath Ritter, Sabrina Ault, Craig Barrett, Madison Barrett; eight great- grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; one brother, Terry Lee Banister of Mesa, Ariz .; one sister, Tharen McKee of Broomfield, Colo .; special friend, AlmaDean Johnson; other relatives and many friends.

Her funeral was held 10 a.m., Saturday at United Methodist Church, Republic, and conducted by Pastor Lance Rundus.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, Downs Cemetery at Downs,and conducted by Pastor Kathy Aeillo

Interment was in the Downs Cemetery, Downs, KS
