Brodstone Memorial Hospital has been named a 2020 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This annual award honoring rural hospital performance is determined by the results of iVanatge Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index.

Based on publicly available data, the index assesses performance across eight pillars of performance that span market-, value- and finance-based categories.

Treg Vyzourek, CEO, was thrilled when he received the news. When announcing the rating to employees, he said, “This designation is because of all the hard work and dedication that all of our employees put into the care that our customers receive. This demonstrates nationally the quality of care the patient receives at Brodstone.  The 5 star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that was announced in February and now being a top 100 facility really sets us apart from all the other hospitals in the state and the nation.

There were 12 other critical access hospitals on list from Nebraska, however, Brodstone Memorial Hospital has made the list nine times, more than any other Nebraska hospital.

There are 1,350 critical access hospitals in the United States. Other Nebraska hospitals to make the list this year include Boone County Health Center, Albion; Community Medical Center, Falls City; Howard County Medical Center, St. Paul; Jefferson Community Healthy & Life, Fairbury; Memorial Health Care Systems, Seward; Memorial Hospital, Aurora; Merrick Medical Center, Central City; Nemaha County Hospital, Auburn; Pender Community Hospital, Pender; Phelps Memorial Health Center, Holdrege; Providence Medical Center, Wayne; and York General Hospital, York.
