What fun to happen upon a cattle drive on a windy and sunny afternoon. A rider on a horse, a 4-wheeler and another 4-wheeled vehicle kept them moving. Being cattle, there were always a few straying into a field or into a patch of trees. One of the three herders would whirl off to  force the strays back on the road.

It was amazing how quickly the fat black cattle moved down the road and yet not running; their focus was on a truck, apparently with feed aboard, to entice the critters to follow.

Unlike the western movies, there was no shouting, no hollering, The cattle walked along as if on a mission.

Nearing a crossroad, the motorized vehicles took off through a wooded area to gain the roads ahead of the cattle and blocked them from traveling this way or that way. They proceeded across the road with no problems as they continued toward a new pasture or feed lot.  We, who observed, journeyed on our way with smiles of joy at that experience!
