Wind was the word for last week. Saturday had one of the stronger winds pushing gusts up to 60 mph. Sunday was also windy reaching into the 40 mph range. Temperatures were warmer. It was thought the winds were bringing smoke from the Oklahoma fires causing a haze in the late afternoon Saturday. Rain fell overnight Sunday and continued Monday morning.

The Randall Community Church congregation is invited to attend a potluck dinner at the Jewell Christian Church on Sunday. The combined board will meet at 1 p.m.

Progressive Study Club has moved their March meeting to Tuesday at the Randall Library at 11 a.m. and car pool to Concordia.

Our sympathy to Charli and Don Barrett and their daughters in the loss of her mother, Dorothy Borger, 97, formerly of Ionia. Their daughter, Heather McDonald, came Tuesday for an overnight visit and returned to her home in Brewster Wednesday, then came back Thursday to help her mom until Sunday. Erika Barrett came Wednesday evening and stayed until Sunday. Kirsten and Nate Jomes and family were there often as they live in Mitchell County. After services Saturday, Nate Jones and sons left to attend the sub-state basketball tournament which Beloit High won. Sean McDonald took their boys home later Saturday to prepare for a pine wood derby. Charli and Don had a special evening with their daughters.

Jill and Mike Ramsey attended the funeral for Jenny Ramsey’s father, who died of a heart attack at the age of 72.  Jenny is Chad Ramsey’s wife.

Jerry and Janae Peters and family stopped by to visit his parents, Elaine and Dan Peters one day. Friday, Elaine attended the Lenten Mass and helped with the meal served afterwards. Granddaughter, Tatem Peters, called on them Sunday.

Marti and Wayne McElroy visited his mother, Ila McElroy. Saturday callers were Jocelyn and Raelyn Bolte, Kinley Cooper and Jaren Flavin.

Fawna Barrett attended the funeral for Dorothy Borger Saturday in Ionia and visited with Colson cousins and the Barrett family afterwards.
