Trinity United Methodist Women conduct meeting

March 19, 2020

Marsha Slate (left) and Becky Loomis, both officers of the United Methodist Women of Jewell's Trinity United Methodist Church, hold one of the 63 quilts tied by the group during their recent "Quilt Days." The quilts are part of the group's mission work.

Trinity United Methodist Women met Thursday with Becky Loomis presiding. Prayer concerns were lifted and Becky led in prayer. The lesson, "Memories of Gethesame" was given by Fawna Barrett. Even after 10 years, the memory for her of her trip to Israel remains sharp. She told of walking through the Garden of Gethesame on a rocky terrain. How could Jesus have knelt  to pray on rocks all night? Scripture was read from Matthew 26.

Officer reports included a report on Salina Rescue Mission by Lola Abram. Nancy Anderson had an amusing article "Hair Obsession." Prayers werre for Micah and Julia Daniels as they are to receive a new assignment at the end of this term.

Plans were completed for the Pie Workshop March 29. Sixty-six quilts were completed last month. They will be blessed during worship and delivered to several missions. It was suggested that only twin size quilts be made next year.

Other plans made were for Guest Night April 22 and assembling health kits on May 3. Lunch was served by Marsha Slate.
