Terry Leon Bargen, 70, a Superior resident, died Friday. He was born Dec. 13, 1949. He attended Superior High School and graduated in 1968. He worked at the cement plant in Superior, at the ASCS Office in Nelson, and Delka’s Garage in Hardy as a mechanic. Along the way he also was a self-employed farmer as well as in terrace construction. He married his wife on June 21, 1980. On Sept. 28, 1983, they welcomed their only daughter to the world.

Terry was a dog lover. He had a soft spot for black Labradors and coonhounds. He enjoyed hunting coons and deer. He also liked to fish and enjoyed taking his daughter and grandson fishing. The outdoors was where he felt most comfortable. It was with those interests that he had many tales to tell.

During his life he created many memories with those he grew up and spent time with. It is those memories and stories that should carry on in his absence. The family asked those with a fond memory or story to please write it down and share with them.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnna Bargen; a daughter, Tammy Bargen; grandchild, Caden Ackles; a brother, Lowell Bargen; and sisters Pam Beale and Cheryl Mohler. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Bargen; and his parents, Alvin and Wava Bargen.

Because of the health alert, a private family funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Pastor Robert Hopkins officiated. Everyone was welcome to attend the burial held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Visitation was on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the graveside service everyone was invited to D&D Lion’s Den in Nelson to continue Terry's celebration of life.
