Schools now closed to May 1

Superior Public Schools provided sacked breakfast and lunch to students who requested it this week. Monday was the first day the service was provided. Above, Kevin Knoell, transportation director, and Roxane Thompson, a route driver, met patrons in front of the Superior Auditorium both at noon and earlier in the morning. Breakfast consisted of milk, juice and a cinnamon roll. Lunch included a turkey sandwich, potato chips, baby carrots and chocolate milk. Above, Dodi Holling picks up sack lunches for her grandchildren.

Tuesday morning patrons of the Superior School district were notified the Superior Public Schools had extended the time the facilities will be closed through April 30. This decision was said to have been made with guidance from the Nebraska Department of Education, the state health department, and other schools within Educational Service Unit 9.

The Superior schools will continue "Enrichment Activities" for all students through April 1. The teaching staff is preparing a "Continuity of Learning Plan" to be implemented starting on April 2. This means work will be taken for a grade for many...
