LuEtta Braun

 

LuEtta Martha Braun, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Rippe) Hobelman, was born on April 28, 1928, on a farm near Hardy, Neb. She died March 27, 2020, at the Kingswood Court in Superior, at the age of 91 years, 10 months, 28 days.

LuEtta was one of eight children and attended Superior Schools and graduated from Hardy High School. She married Harold Braun on Jan. 30, 1949 in Superior. This union was blessed with two daughters.

LuEtta was employed at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph for many years retiring in 1988. She loved her children and grandchildren and time with them along with her husband, Harold “Shorty.” She was a member of Centennial Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter’s Janet Diehl and husband, Mark, and Susan Trapp and husband, Robert, all of Superior; four grandchildren, Joseph Trapp, Allysa Diehl, Andrew (Jessica) Diehl and Spencer (Maggie) Trapp; three great-grandchildren Mika Trapp and Breya and Rylan Trapp; and her sister, Florence (Joe) Calder of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

In compliance with the CDC guidelines a private family graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with Pastor Robert Hopkins officiating.

Recording of “Amazing Grace” was played.

Visitation was held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. following the CDC guidelines of 10 people.

Pallbearers were her grandchildren Joseph Trapp, Allysa Diehl, Andrew Diehl and Spencer Trapp.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Southern Nebraska Arts Council “Crest Theatre” or Centennial Lutheran Church.
