Patricia Cline

 


Patricia Ann Cline, 70, daughter of Melvin Riffel and Elizabeth (Rutz) Riffel was born May 24, 1949, at home near Hope, Kan., and died March 25, 2020 in Belleville.

Patricia grew up in the Herington area, playing the role of big sister to her rambunctious younger siblings. She graduated from Hope High School in 1967 and attended Brown Mackie College in Salina.

Patricia was united in marriage to Gary Cline on Nov. 15, 1969, and to this union two children were born, Brian and Rana. In July of 1976 they moved to Scandia,and opened a family business, Scandia Auto, where they worked side by side for 20 years. She served as assistant librarian at the Scandia City library since 2012.

Patricia was active in many social circles and participated in a number of clubs and organizations. She sold Avon, was a member of the Red Hat Society and the American Legion Auxilliary, was a board and council member for the Amana Lutheran Church and Peace Parish, competed in local bowling leagues, and taught line dancing. Pat cherished family time.


She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin, and brother, Henry Riffel.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Riffel of Herington; son, Brian Cline of Osborne; daughter, Mrs. Elijah (Rana) Moore of Scandia; husband, Gary Cline of Scandia; three brothers, Melvin Riffel Jr. of Hope, Terry Riffel of Enterprise, Brad Riffel of Scandia; three sisters, Mrs. Vance (Karen) Donahue of Herington, Marvella Riffel of Scandia, Tammy Stalder of Salina; and one granddaughter, Rowan Moore of Scandia.

A private family graveside service will be held Monday at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, conducted by Pastor Lance Rundus.
