SHS Foundation scholarships benefit 75% of graduates

Superior Public Schools Foundation was formed in 2004 as a non-profit organization responsible for the generation of funds to support scholarships for the youth of the Superior School District following generous donations from the Dahlgren and Bossemeyer families. The foundation is dedicated to supporting students so they may empower themselves with the skills necessary to attain high academic levels while becoming productive people, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.

Since its creation, the foundation has awarded $178,800 to 188 students. Because of the growth of donations, we are now able to fund 125 to 200 foundation scholarships annually benefiting nearly 75 percent of each graduating class. Total funds contributed to date for student scholarships are $463,020.47. These monies have funded the following scholarships: Carl & Etta Dahlgren, Bossemeyer Family, Roder Family, Wes Sumpter, Leon & Marcella Simonsen, Superior Paint & Body, Home Federal, VFW Auxiliary, Elizabeth Woerner-Carter, Donna Fullerton, Jessica Thompson and V.E.T.S.

Members of the foundation board of directors are: Robert Tipton, president; Andrew Miller, vice president; Jason Ray, treasurer; Kim Williams, secretary; Marty Kobza, Jason Jensen and Jacki Porter.

Contact Kim Williams, 402-879-3257, kwilliams@superiorwild cats.org or any board member for information on donating to the Superior Public Schools Foundation.
