Elmer John Holtzen, 94, of Deshler, the son of Theodore and Anna (Mueller)

Holtzen was born Aug. 28, 1925, near Davenport. He died Friday, May 15, at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron.

Elmer grew up on a farm near Kiowa where he attended school through the

eighth grade. He then went to work helping his father on the farm and spent his entire life working the ground, and raising livestock. He was still on the farm at the time of his death.

Elmer married Mildred Schardt April 5, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau. This year they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary....
