The Jewell County commissioners met June 1. Commissioners Mark Fleming, Steve Greene and Keith Roe and Carla J, Waugh, county clerk, were present for the meeting.

The commissioners discussed closing one mile of 130 Road between section 25 of 4-8 and Section 30 of 4-9 with Joel Elkins, general superintendent. The commissioners decided not to close the one mile of 130 Road between section 25 of 4-8 and Section 30 of 4-9.

Commissioners approved adopting Resolution 20-12, opening the courthouse for public access.

Nancy Marihugh, health administrator and Kevin Peroutek, noxious weed director, emergency preparedness director and 911 coordinator provided an update on the COVID-19 cases statewide.
