Myron Wilcox

Myron L. Wilcox, 93, the son of Lyvene and Fern Hoins Wilcox, was born May 7, 1927, at Guide Rock.  He died May 19, at Autumn Care Center in Marshville, N.C.

Myron graduated from Superior High School with the Class of 1945. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II being honorably discharged in 1947.  Myron was united in marriage to Eleanor Colgrove on Aug. 19, 1947, at the Baptist church in Superior. This union was blessed with the birth of one son, Richard, and two daughters, Kyla and Karen.  Myron had been a long time employee of the United States Postal Service. Myron never knew a stranger. He enjoyed visiting and sharing a story.

Myron had been a member of the VFW Post and the American Legion both of Superior, as well as a long time member of the NRA.


He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard in 1985, and wife, Eleanor, in 2009.

Survivors include his daughters, Kyla Nobles of Indian Trail, N.C.; Karen Wilcox of Minneapolis, Minn.; and four grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
