This week the Whatever Floats Your Boat contest planned for Sunday at the Lovewell State Park beach area joined the long list of activities cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a news release a park spokesman said, in an effort to encourage social distancing the event will not be rescheduled this year.

The fireworks display originally scheduled for Friday evening, July 3, had been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5, which is part of the Labor Day Weekend.
