At approximately 6:50 Saturday night, the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 407 First Street in Deshler. While searching the home, officers found suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia. The lone adult resident was arrested and transported to jail.

Arrangements were made for juveniles residing in the home to stay with relatives.

As the search continued, suspected explosive devices and material along with firearms were discovered. With the assistance of the Deshler Volunteer Fire Department, the immediate area was evacuated and a perimeter was established. Members of the Nebraska State Patrol Bomb Squad were sent to Deshler to assist. Upon arrival, they were able to remove the devices and related material and the search continued.
