Jake Kleen Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to three area high school seniors. The 2020 recipients are: Hallie Epley,Lawrence-Nelson; Caleb Jalas, Deshler; and Hunter Healey, Superior.

Funds for these scholarships are furnished by the Annual Jake Kleen Memorial Golf Tournament. The 14th annual tournament will be held Saturday, July 25, at the Superior Country Club, Superior.

Jake grew up in Ruskin, and graduated from Nelson High School. He was attending University of Nebraska planning to become a coach and teacher when he was killed in a car accident. His family decided a memorial scholarship would be a continuing memorial to Jake.
