Superior community fills the truck for first responders

Chris Peterson, Superior mayor, an EMT and a member of the Superior Volunteer Fire Department, pushes a cart filled with bottled water and Gatorade bottles from the Ideal Market parking lot to the fire hall. Donations were accepted Saturday as part of the Fill-The-Truck benefit. State Farm donated buns and chips. Brodstone Memorial Hospital donated and grilled brats. The water and Gatorade will be used by the Superior Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Superior Volunteer Fire Department. The event was organized by the Superior Chamber of Commerce.

The Fill The Truck event held Saturday in the Ideal Market parking lot has raised more than $3,800 and collected cart loads of water and Gatorade for distribution to the Superior Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad. At last total 34.5 gallons of Gatorade had been donated along with 129.1 gallons of bottled water. The money and drinks will be divided between the two departments.
