Can Care-a-Van coming to Superior

The 10/11 Can Care-a-Van has been helping to feed Nebraskans since 1988. While much has changed over the past three decades, hunger has persisted. That need keeps Nebraskans coming out year after year to help stock the shelves of their local food pantries.

This year is the 33rd for the Can Care-a-Van and stops are planned this year in Superior, Sutton, Aurora, Grand Island, York, Columbus, Beatrice, Ord, Kearney, Nebraska City, Atkinson, Ainsworth and Lexington.

For the sixth year Black Hills Energy is partnering with the television company to sponsor the Can Care-a-Van.

Last year the six-day food collection drive gathered 297,901 pounds.

The Can Care-a-Van will be set up outside the Nuckolls County Food Panry at 145 E. Fourth Street between 9 a.m. and noon on Monday.
