Supt. Rex Boley

Rex Boley, a first year superintendent, is the new superintendent for Rock Hills Schools. He was born and raised in a small town called Eskridge, Kan., where he graduated from Mission Valley High School.

After graduation, Rex attended two years at Cloud County Community College. He then transferred to Kansas State University where he received his bachelor's degree in agriculture followed by his master's degree in secondary education. He received his building and district level certification from Fort Hays University and his talented certification from Emporia State University.

Rex moved to Mankato because he believed it is a wonderful area. When he taught agriculture, Jewell, Mankato and Burr Oak all had schools. He was exposed to students from all three schools and believed the communities valued education. He said Mankato has a great board of education and wonderful staff. These are all reasons he decided to make Mankato his first superintendent job.

When asked why he became a superintendent, Rex said he was a principle at Salina West, but he wanted to have a bigger impact in education. His background is career and technology. He believes Rock Hills Schools work together to make students college and career ready.

When he is home, he likes to play soccer with his dog, go camping and help his brother farm. He also likes being involved in his three children's activities.
