August 6, 2020

Commencement exercises were held outdoors Saturday at the athletic field for the Rock Hills Class of 2020. Seniors social distanced from each other. Members of the Rock Hills class of 2020 are Maleigh Boss, KayLee Bozeman, Joshua Davis, Kaycee Hashberger, Dominic Long, Haley Long, Jenna Martinez, Xavier Minear, Cheyenne Mohler, Katherine Reinert, Sierra Stephans, Sara Tadefa, Samuel Underwood, Keegan Wagner. Rylee Whelchel, Noah Williams and Jaclyn Yelken.

On Saturday, the Rock Hills High School graduating class of 2020 finally got to walk across the stage to receive their long awaited diplomas. With COVID-19 taking away so many activities the seniors looked forward to, they were pleased to experience this milestone. Held at the athletic field, the graduation had many attendees who were excited to see the seniors make their first real step to adulthood.

There were tears of joy and of sadness from parents and graduates alike. The flower presentation the seniors chose to do was the catalyst for the tears from the mothers. The song for the flower presentation will bring memories whenever it is heard.

Their exit song, I'm on My Way, was a fitting ending to their graduation. It highlighted the steps they will soon experience. After exiting the bleachers, some of the graduates stood aside and threw their caps in celebration.

The graduates have taken their first steps into adulthood. Parents and the community watched them grow into the young adults they have become.

Congratulations to the Senior Class of 2020!
