Children's Sunday School kick offs at Mankato City Park

September 3, 2020

On Sunday, the Lutheran Children’s Sunday School had a Sunday School kick-off party at the Mankato City Park with members of the parish invited. It began with church service on the sound stage at 9 a.m., followed by lunch and activities at 10 a.m. A Christian themed treasure hunt and a cross-stained glass chalk drawing were just a few of the activities. Lunch was a picnic with the meat provided by the Sunday School.

This party was planned by Tiffany Hollerich, the Sunday School superintendent, Pastor Dennis Beckmann and sound provided by Don Koester with musical accompaniment by Irene Ortman.

The party was a success as all the children had a great time looking for clues for the treasure hunt, beautiful coloring of the stained glass chalk art, people walking away with full bellies and extra food to spare. The weather for the event was cool with a slight breeze which everyone enjoyed.
