Weather Service warns of smoke settling to surface

September 17, 2020

Unusual seems to be the norm this year. Not only has our social life been turned upside down by the COVID so has our weather, though we probably can’t blame the unsual weather on the pandemic.

Tuesday afternoon the National Weather Service issued a bulletin warning that a uniquen weather situation might impact the area on Wednesday

Smoke was expected to settle near the surface during the day Wednesday

It was thought individuals with preexisting conditions susceptible to air quality issues might be impacted if outdoors Wednesday and Wednesday night (including those at work, school practices or other outdoor events.)

There was some uncertainty regarding how much smoke may settle near the surface.

Smoke from the western fires has been making for colorful views of the sun and moon.
