September 24, 2020

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)began a field survey Monday for the detailed design of proposed bridge improvements on U.S. 24 in Cloud County.

The two locations surveyed are for the Lost Creek Bridge, .53 miles east of the Cloud-Mitchell county line and for the Cris Creek Bridge, 7.41 miles east of the Cloud/Mitchell county line.

The survey takes place on the existing highway alignment.

KDOT expects the survey work to last five weeks. Activities include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor.

A member of the survey crew will contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property.

Kara LaRiviere, Field Survey Project Manager, of BG Consultants are in charge of this survey for KDOT. Persons with questions may contact KDOT Public Affairs Manager Ashley Perez at 785-826-6799.
