SHS Cross Country team travels to Fillmore Central

Last Thursday, the Wildcat Cross Country Team participated in a meet at Fillmore Central at Geneva.

A.J. Leibel just missed out on medals by two seconds. They metaled in the top 20 and he placed 22nd. A.J.’s time was more than a minute faster than last year on this course.

Taygun Rothchild also shaved off quite a bit of time compared to last year. Taygun and Grady Henderson ran in the JV race.

Coach Hersherger said, “The competition was very strong at this meet. Malcom, Gothenburg, Adams Central, Lincoln Christian, Milford and McCool Junction have all had excellent teams in recent years. I was pleased with all of our runners.”

The Superior boys team placed 11th out of 18 teams.

The team results included these top five teams: 1) Lincoln Christian; 2) Milford; 3) Gothenburg; 4) Wilber-Clatonia; and 5) Adams Central.

The top 10 runners were: 1) Luke Bonifus, Adams Central; 2) William Anderson, Gothenburg; 3) Tommy Lokken, Wilber-Clatonia; 4) Garrett Nichols, Fillmore Central; 5) Dawson Hoover, Wilber-Clatonia; 6) Gavin McGerr, Lincoln Christian; 7) Tyler Neville, McCool Junction; 8) Carter Hohlen, Lincoln Christian; 9) Brayton Jarosik, South Central; 10) Parker Graves, Gothenburg.


Brett Miller placed 55th, Jedd Whitmore, 59th and Gavin Ekstein, 62nd. Seventy-nine runners competed in the boys division.
