Steven Troy Hanson, 56, died Sept. 25, 2020. Steve enjoyed fishing, golf, camping and football - especially K-State and Chiefs. After graduating from Manhattan Vo-Tech, he worked as a lineman. He then changed to masonry construction. His last job was with Atlas Aerospace. Steve lived simple and laughed often.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry G. Hanson; grandparents, Casper and Irbie Hanson and Emil and Inez Claycamp.

He is survived by mother, Leota (Bill) McCarthy of Manhattan; sister, Pam (Rick) Martinez of Manhattan; partner, Dana Hanson of Derby; step-son, Dustin Phillips of Derby; step-sisters, Linda McCarthy of Topeka, and Tina McCarthy of Austin, Texas; nephew, Athen Martinez of Charolette, N.C.; and niece, Raquelle Martinez of Manhattan.

His funeral was held 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at Smith Family Mortuary, Derby. Burial will take place 11 a.m., Friday in Mankato.
