RHHS football drops another game

It was another game to forget for the Rock Hills Grizzlies football team. They hosted Osborne, at Mankato, Friday. Osborne headed home at halftime thanks to the mercy rule. Rock Hills was left with a 60-6 loss, their third of the season against one win.

The Grizzlies trailed 36-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter. The offense could not produce and the defense was porous at best. The second quarter saw Osborne add 24 points while the Grizzlies managed to score six points. It was over at the half.

Statistics were available for the previous week's game, a 64-18 loss to Axtell, at Axtell.

Mason Higer completed none of his four pass attempts against Axtell. He picked up 190 yards on the ground with his 31 carries and scored all three Rock Hills touchdowns. Grant Meyers carried the ball seven times to cover 11 yards. Davion McDonald netted one yard with his one carry.

Higer led the defense with four solo tackles and two assisted tackles. Connor Cosand posted two solo tackles and had one assist. Jacob Barry accounted for one solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles. McDonald registered a solo and assisted tackle. Caden Slate made a solo tackle. Meyers and Kole Vance contributed two assisted tackles each. Statistics for the Osborne game were unavailable at press time.

Rock Hills travels to Kensington, Friday, for a game with the 3-1 Thunder Ridge Longhorns. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
