Logan Menke, Brayton Jarosik to compete at state

The temperatures may be colder, the leaves may be changing color, but the high school cross county season is not over . . . yet. Above, Brayton Jarosik and Logan Menke pose after the Class C-4 District Cross Country Meet in Minden last week. Both have one more chance to compete this year as they both earned medals at the district and will be running at the state cross meet in Kearney next Friday. The boys will represent the South Central Red Raider team made up of students from Sandy Creek and Lawrence-Nelson High School.

One . . . two . . . three . . .

Competing at a state level event for three years is a fete not many high school age students get the chance to experience. However, Red Raider, Brayton Jarosik, (from the Sandy Creek half of the Red Raiders) qualified last Thursday to do just that. The class C-4 Cross Country District Meet was held in Minden and Brayton finished in 5th place with a time of 17:16. That time was also a career best for Brayton and was just 19 seconds behind the district winner.
