Kansas voters eager to cast ballotts

November 5, 2020

Tuesday was general election day in all 50 states. Kansas polls were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and early indications were that the turnout in Jewell County would be heavy because of the interest in state and national races.

Because of earlier mailing deadlines advancing our printing times, the polls were just closing as this issue of your newspaper went to press. Thus we were unable to include results from Jewell County.

However, when the results are available we will post them to our website.

As a means to help control costs when advertising volume is down because of the COVID-10 pandemic, three newspapers, the Jewell County Record, The Superior Express and the Nuckolls County Locomotive-Gazette are sharing one website which can be found at superiorne.com.

While portions of the website are available to everyone, some sections are available only by subscriptions. Subscribers to this newspaper are encouraged to also request a subscription to the website. The website subscription is free to those with mail subscriptions or it can be purchased separately.

An email subscription gives access to a digital reproduction of the paper generally on Wednesday afternoons. That will be of particular interest next week, when a shut down of the postal system for Veterans Day will, in many cases, delay delivery of the newspaper.
