RHHS football ends season with a no-contest game

November 5, 2020

The Rock Hills High School football team ended their season with a sigh. Their cross district game with the Wetmore Cardinals was canceled because of COVID-19 related issues. The issue was not with the Rock Hills squad. The game was recorded as a no-contest. It does not count in the standings for either team. Because of the short time period after notification of the cancellation by Wetmore, Rock Hills officials were unable to arrange a game with another team.

The game ended the 2020 season for the Grizzlies. They finished with a 3-5 record.

For seniors Mason Higer, Jerrod Gillett, Davion McDonald, Jacob Usita, Kole Vance, Caden Slate and Kenny Sterling, it was not only the end of the season but the end of their careers as Grizzlies. The seven seniors will be missed for their leadership and playing abilities next season.

The underclassmen on the team gained experience and will be expected to step up and take command of the team.
