The second round of Volleyball subdistricts was held Tuesday, Oct. 27. Thayer Central was the host and swept the Superior Lady Cats in three sets.

Coach Blevins summarized the match, saying, " The Wildcats couldn't take Thayer Central's offense on Tuesday night. In the first set, Thayer Central came out adhesively and got Superior down 0 to 8 in the first rotation. The Cats didn't give up. They fought back in set two and had a lead of 18 to 13, but Thayer Central went on a six-point run and went up 20 to 9 over the Cats. It was tied 22 to 22. Cailyn Barry had two big kills and so did Emma Henderson, but it wasn't enough as the Wildcats lost the set 23 to 25. They weren't done yet. Ella Gardner scored the first point in the third set with a nice front row dump over the net. She then went on a short run with her serve. The play Tuesday night included a lot of tipping from both teams. The game was tied 13 to 13 in the third set, but the Titans stayed ahead of the Lady Cats to finish the sweep in three sets. Volleyball is a game of momentum. Last week, the Cats defeated Thayer Central and this week Thayer Central took one from the Wildcats. Superior received one of the four wildcards and will get a second chance at the state tournament!"
