Brodstone earns another Top 10 provider award

The awards keep rolling in for Brodstone Memorial Hospital. This week it was learned Brodstone Memorial Hospital is one of the Top 10 recipients of the 2020 Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award from the Nebraska Office of Rural Health.

The 2020 “Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award” recognizes Top 10 overall performance in quality among Nebraska’s 64 critical access hospitals. The award was presented during the virtual Nebraska Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics Conference on Quality.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the best quality hospitals in the state. This demonstrates the dedication and professionalism our staff displays on a daily basis. This is a constant theme throughout all of the awards we received this year, including the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital Award, Top 20 Critical Access Hospital Award and being a Double 5 Star Award winner. We are proud to serve our communities with the highest quality of care that someone can receive.” said Treg Vyzourek, Brodstone Memorial Hospital CEO.

Now in its third year, the Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award leverages the Hospital Strength Index framework to analyze Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP) measures for the 64 Critical Access Hospitals in Nebraska. The analysis percentile-ranks performance for each facility across 24 equally weighted, core MBQIP metrics. Hospitals ranking in the top 10 are recognizedwith the Provider Excellence in Quality Award.

“While this year has brought about unexpected challenges and a new reality for critical access hospitals across Nebraska, the commitment to community and providing quality care has not wavered,” said Nancy Jo Hansen, Flex and SHIP program manager, Nebraska Department of Health. “We are immensely proud to recognize the efforts of these 10 facilities who are setting the standard within our state for excellence in quality.”

“Nebraska’s Critical Access Hospitals are among the nation’s best when it comes to quality, performing at the 92nd percentile,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to join the Nebraska Department of Health in recognizing this year’s Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award winners.”
