There was excitement in the northwestern Jewell County community of Northbranch on Sunday, Nov. 8. At approximately 12:05 p.m. the Jewell County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a man with a rifle making threats toward the owner of a house in that community. Deputies responded and took a man into custody. He was held on charges of criminal threat, aggravated assault, battery on an law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement, theft, and felony possession of a firearm.
