Arvid Bergstrom

Arvid Lee Bergstrom, 90, the son of Arvid M. and Ethel (Nolan) Bergstrom, was born Dec. 1, 1929, on the family farm, near Brantford, Kan. He died last Wednesday at the Republic County Hospital.

Arvid graduated from Courtland High School with the Class of 1947. He then married Rosella Delores Anderson on May 1, 1949, in Courtland.

Arvid enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, Arvid enlisted in the Air Force Reserves.

He was a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Agenda area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosella, in 2009; and an infant daughter, Deborah.

Survivors include his son, Lester Bergstrom of Cuba; and daughters, Mrs. Bob McCann (Roseanne) of Overbrook, and Mrs. Bob Gepner (Christine) of Bonner Springs; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Harvey Rosco (Dorothy). Mrs. Jim Olson (Edna) Mrs. Bob Duey (Sandy), Mrs. Richard Adee (Alice), and Janice Parr; and a brother, Marvin.

A graveside funeral was held Tuesday at the Brantford Covenant Church Cemetery, rural Clyde.

Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home of Belleville was in charge of arrangements.
