Michael Thomas Lorensen, the son of Howard and Margaret (Petersen) Lorensen was born May 8, 1950, at Norfolk. He died Saturday at his home near Oak.

Mike grew up at Stanton and graduated with the Class of 1968. After graduation, Mike joined the United States Air Force and did two tours in Vietnam. Mike was honorably discharged in 1974 and moved to Tacoma, Wash., where he joined the Pipefitters Union Local 26.

Mike returned to Stanton in 1988 and was united in marriage with Susan Melton. In 1992 Mike and Susan bought an acreage near Oak

He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers, Samuel and Peter.

Survivors include his wife, Susan, of Oak; a daughter, Mrs. Will Lorensen (Holland) of Clay Center, Neb.; a son, Jens Lorensen, of Lincoln, Neb.; and grandchildren, Gracelynn and Jeremiah Michael.

A private service will be held at later date. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, is in charge of the arrangements.
