Blevins will not return as Superior volleyball coach

December 3, 2020

It appears big changes are in store for the Superior High School volleyball program and those changes made for sports page headlines across the state this week.

A state championship-winning coach will not be returning to lead the team next season, as Kelsea Blevins has been relieved of her coaching duties.

Blevins led the Wildcats to four straight state tournament appearances, compiling a 107-19 record in that span. She guided the team to three straight state semifinal appearances, including the program’s only state title in 2017.

Blevins, who graduated from Auburn High School and played collegiate sports at Hastings College, remains in the Superior school system as a full-time Spanish teacher.

The shake up in the Superior coaching roster has been the topic of much discussion this week.
