SHS wrestlers off to good start

The Superior High School wrestling team opened their season at home Friday where they hosted a quadrangular match. They went 2-1 in their three dual matches. They won against South Central and Meridian and staying close with Thayer Central.

The Wildcats competed at the Harvard Invitational, at Harvard, Saturday. The Wildcats took first place, with 100 points, in the 12 team field. Other schools competing were Alma, Doniphan-Trumbull, Nebraska Christian, Axtell, Sutton, Kenesaw, Hastings St. Cecilia, Meridian, South Central Unified District 5, Shelton and Harvard.

Hayden Neeman clamped down first place in the 106 pound weight bracket. He earned 17 team points for the Wildcats. Brett Miller picked up the 7 third place team points at 113 pounds.

Zander Hamilton nailed down the 10 team points for the 120 pound weight bracket with his second place finish. Aaron Allgood gathered up 16 team points with his second place finish in the 138 pound weight bracket.


Tyler Combs competed at 145 pounds.

Ty Woerner finished second in the 195 pound weight bracket. He picked up 12 team points.

Payton Christiancy took second place honors in the 285 pound weight bracket. He was rewarded with 20 team points.

Anders Webber competed at 285 pounds.

The Wildcats travel to Wood River, Friday, for the Wood River Invitational. The team competes at the Meridian Invitational at Daykin on Saturday.
