Virtual concert is today

December 17, 2020

We live in challenging times now. The traditional Superior Elementary School Winter Concert will be presented without an audience this year. COVID-19 rears its ugly head once more. The need for social distancing and masks makes an in-person audience a logistical nightmare.

Tierney Casper, the K-6 music teacher, has come up with a solution. The concert will be recorded during the school day today (Thursday). Students will be attired in their holiday finery.

Those wishing to view the concert will log into the Striv website. The web address is https//striv.tv/channel/superior.

The concert will be available for viewing after 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday). It will be taken down on Friday morning.

The fifth grade band will open the program with “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.”

The kindergarten students will present “Decorate the Tree.”

The combined first and second grade classes will present the traditional carol, “The First Noel” and “A Gift for Santa.”

The combined third and fourth grade classes will present “An Old Fashioned Holiday.”

The Irving Berlin classic “White Christmas will be sung by the fifth grade classes.

The combined third, fourth and fifth garde classes will close out the program with “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
