Jerry P. Bohnert, age 72, of Topeka, died Friday, Dec.18, 2020, at the Topeka Center in Topeka. Jerry was born March 24, 1948, in Beloit, the son of Roy and Lelah (Opplinger) Bohnert. Jerry graduated from Topeka High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He married Cathy Campbell in 1976. They later divorced. Jerry worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center until he retired in 1996. Jerry enjoyed trains of all kinds. He enjoyed watching trains, was a model railroader and even built a large-sized model and track in his backyard.

Jerry is survived by a brother, Kenneth Bohnert of Topeka; one daughter, Heather Harriman; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Wallace Cemetery east of Jewell. Visitation was from 1 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Davidson Funeral Home.
