Interns now being sought for 2021

January 7, 2021

Area internships available for summer 2021. Jewell County area high school and college students are encouraged to apply now.

All students are encouraged to apply for a Nex-Gen Round Up for Youth Internship. High school and college students are matched with local businesses throughout northwest and north central Kansas for both work study opportunities during the school year and paid, summer internships. Students gain professional skills and broaden their perspectives on career options. Local businesses benefit by networking with youth, bringing fresh ideas to the workplace and “interviewing” students for potential future jobs - all of which contribute to youth retention to our small, rural communities. This is a great opportunity for students and businesses, alike.

Applications are due by March 1. Jewell County businesses include Possibilities-Jewell County Justified and Randall Farmers Coop Union. To apply go to: https://www.nex-gener ation.org/internships

If you know a Fort Hays student interested in local or regional internship, the Fort Hays State University-Dane G. Hansen program offers 30 paid internship opportunities for FHSU students. FHSU partners with businesses and organizations in the Hansen Foundation’s service area in northwest Kansas to provide internships. The student intern works at the employer’s place of business but is paid through Fort Hays State University. The rate of pay is $10.31 per hour.
