Bernard D. Whitehead was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Franklin, Neb. He died Nov. 26, 2020, in Plainfield, Ill.

Bernard was a 1952 Nelson High School graduate. After graduation, he joined the US Navy and served from 1952 to 1956. He cared for his country and the Navy. He was an electrician for 60 years in Chicage Land Area. He had the pleasure of going on the “Honor Flight Chicago” to Washington, D.C. on June 6, 2018.

Bernard was united in marriage to Veda Joy Parsons at the Methodist Church in Superior, on Dec. 30, 1956. To this union four sons were born: Curtis, Michael, Kerry and Corey. B...
