The Lawrence-Nelson boys basketball team ended the regular season portion of their schedule, Friday, with a 57-48 loss to the Deshler Dragons at Nelson. The Raiders opened sub-district D 1-6 play at Davenport Monday where they were downed 58-43 by fifth seeded Thayer Central. The Raiders entered the play-in game as the number four seed. Lawrence-Nelson finished with an 11-12 record for the complete season.

Cole Troudt drives across the top of the free throw lane in the Superior game as the seniors contributes in many way to the Raiders team this year.

The Raiders trailed Thayer Central 8-6 at the conclusion of the first quarter of play. They fell further behind at the half, trailing 25-17. The third quarter, where Thayer Central went on a 19-8 run, put the game out of reach for the Raiders as they trailed 44-25 as the final quarter began. They chipped away four points of the Titans lead but it made no difference as the Raiders saw their state tournamant hopes vanish and their season end at Davenport.

Krayton Kucera was the leading Raiders scorer against Deshler with 21 points. Cole Troudt put up 11 points. Trevor Biltoft and Logan Menke contributed four points each. Peyton Mazour and Keith Miller slipped in three points each. Blake Wroughton hit for two points. Biltoft and Menke snagged four rebounds each. Wroughton and Troudt handled three rebounds apiece. Miller secured two rebounds for the Raiders. Connor Cannaday, Erik Wheeland and Kucera grabbed one rebound each.

For seniors Cole Troudt, Connor Cannaday, Trevor Biltoft, Peyton Mazour, Blake Janda, Blake Wroughton and Keith Miller, the Thayer Central game marked their final appearance in a Raider basketball uniform. Their leadership and experience will be sorely missed next season as the team looks to rebuild.
