The house owned by John and Deb Melton of Oak burnt to the ground. Fortunately, it was a calm morning, and the fire did not spread to the surrounding trees and fields.

No one was living in the house. It was mainly used for the family's storage. It is hard to measure the loss of personal items, and it is unfortunate. John said that it was also nice to have a restroom accessible when they were working the cattle and the house provided a nice spot to have a cup of coffee.

Some day John hopes to build a new structure that will fill the need for a restroom and maybe even a coffee maker. For now, they are just getting the water and electricity back in working order to be able to take care of the cattle.
