JC Health Dept. has given 562 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

The Jewell County Commissioners met March 15, with commissioners Brent Beck, Steve Greene and Keith Roe and Carla Waugh, county clerk, present.

Beck said he visited with B-Green Lawn Care about changing the lawn care services provided for the courthouse lawn. Chris Petet agreed with the changes. B-Green will send a new maintenance agreement.

Anthony Wyatt thanked the county for working with him to obtain the old truss bridge on Road 270 in Sinclair Township.

Nancy Marihugh, health administrator, said the health department has provided 562 first doses and 338 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccines. She said she submitted the aid to local grant application. She is finishing the application for the ELC Grant and it will be submitted. She noted the CDC has changed travel restrictions.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, said they are working on tree projects. Beck advised Elkins the Annual Becker Bouray Consignment Auction is scheduled for April 11. The commissioners shared road concerns.

The commissioners viewed the changes to the courtroom because of COVID-19. Dixie Dethloff, district court clerk, provided information on the additional electrical changes needed.
