Dwane Rice died in his home in Jewell March 21, 2021. Dwane was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Exeter, Neb., to Wayne E, Rice and Eva L. (Derry) Rice. He was one of 13 children.

On March 1, 1955, at the age of 17 years, Dwane enlisted into the Army. Dwane spent 20 years in the Army to serve his country.

On May 13, 1957, he was united in marriage to Hollie Faye Taylor. In this union three children were born: Dwane E. Rice Jr., Milburn W. Rice and Kathy M. (Rice) Mallory.
